The abundance of birds and wildlife, along with the scenic photography opportunities, has attracted visitors by the thousands to explore this majestic land of ours by boat, plane, canoe, kayak and by hiking our many trails.
You can Canoe or Kayak for exercise or fun like you normally would, or you can go out seeking an adventure you will never forget. Feel the breeze caressing your face as you paddle along the open water on our beckoning lakes and rivers. Paddle along gently and see the Loons and other water birds nesting in the marshes and reeds. As you silently paddle your way around, watch the shoreline for the bear, deer and moose that can be seen coming to the water’s edge for that drink of cool refreshing water, unaware that you are even there and are taking their picture. Revel in the beauty and serenity of the moment, as you are at peace with nature and the great outdoors.
Hiking is your chance to participate in an activity you can enjoy at your own pace while you enjoy a pleasant walk with nature. Breathe in some fresh clean air and let the sunshine embrace you as you discover the birds, wildlife and plants along the maintained hiking and nature trails, or go cycling along the unpopulated roads that are common in this vast area we call home. No matter how long you are outdoors, you will be pleasantly affected by the presence of nature all around you.
Grab your camera, binoculars and your field guide and let’s go Bird Watching! Look for the many Bald Eagles that majestically fly overhead or swoop down and create ripples that expand across the surface of the water as they catch themselves a bite to eat. Listen for the lonely cry of the Loon in the distance or the songbirds singing merrily as they flit from tree to tree in the nearby meadow. Take your time and enjoy what nature has to offer you in Northwestern Ontario.
