For the very best, and the most successful Hunting Adventure
you’ve ever had, then come for a
Hunting Holiday in Northwestern Ontario.
Northwestern Ontario extends from White River in the east to Kenora and Rainy River in the west, with thousands of pristine lakes and miles and miles of unspoiled territory that supports a healthy population of big game, small game, upland birds and waterfowl.
Big Game Hunting
If it’s a Big Game Hunt you’re after for Whitetail Deer, Black Bear or Moose, Northwestern Ontario offers you many great opportunities to challenge your hunting skills and bring home that Trophy! You can choose Archery, Muzzle Loader or Rifle hunting season, depending on what mode of hunting or which hunting equipment you prefer to use. There are healthy populations of Whitetail Deer, Black Bear and Moose, in Northwestern Ontario, so you are guaranteed to have an opportunity to successfully harvest the Big Game Animal of your choice!
Goose and Duck Hunting
Canada Geese, Mallards, Blue Bills, Teals and other waterfowl have regular migratory routes that pass through our region in large numbers every fall. Our lakes are regular stopovers for these birds to rest and fuel up in order to continue their flight south for the winter. With thousands of migratory birds either stopping or passing through, you are guaranteed to have some great waterfowl hunting opportunities right here in Northwestern Ontario.
Grouse Hunting
Northwestern Ontario has thousands of acres of ideal breeding grounds and excellent habitat for a variety of upland game birds. Because of this, there are thriving populations of Sharp-tail, Spruce and Ruffed Grouse throughout the area. You can enjoy a relaxing day strolling through the bush trails or abandoned logging roads in search of Grouse sunning themselves on the trail or pecking at the gravel on the roadside. With the increasing populations of grouse, hunters do not have to travel far or wait long for a successful upland game hunting experience!
Wolf Hunting
A number of outfitters in Northwestern Ontario offer Wolf Hunts. Wolf hunts can be offered successfully in the winter months of December to February, or even combined with a Deer Hunting Expedition in November. Wolf pelts have to be “prime”, which means that too early a hunt or a hunt too late in the spring will not usually provide you with a good quality fur and hide, even when tanned to preserve it. Come stretch your hunting season over the winter months and enjoy a Wolf Hunt combined with an ice fishing trip for a new and exciting adventure!
Make your hunting experience even more exciting by combining a hunting and fishing expedition in one trip. Many sporting seasons overlap so you can enjoy a fall fishing trip along with duck hunting, grouse hunting, bear hunting, or even deer hunting in some wildlife management areas.
